"HOW CAN I TAKE BOOKS TO CUBA?"

Visitors to Cuba are encouraged to support the growth of a civil society by taking books to the independent librarians.  All visitors to the libraries are welcome, and foreign guests are guaranteed to receive a warm reception.  For a list of library addresses, please refer to the "Addresses of Libraries" link.

Books, magazines, and videotapes on all subjects and from all perspectives are needed in Cuba.  Spanish language materials are preferred, but even non-Spanish materials are appreciated, especially if they contain numerous illustrations (such as newsmagazines, fashion magazines and National Geographics.)

The Friends have a large number of Spanish language books stockpiled and we will gladly provide them to people traveling to Cuba for delivery to the libraries. Please contact us for additional information, advice and travel tips.

For detailed, up-to-the-minute recommendations on the best way to deliver books and other materials to the independent libraries, please e-mail the Friends of Cuban Libraries: (rkent20551@cs.com). Our telephone number (USA) is 718-305-9201.  Our mailing address is: 4-74 48th Avenue, Apt. 3-C, Long Island City, NY 11109 USA.
